Unified National Competition: same test for several federal positions

The Unified National Competition (CNU) is an initiative of the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) that will allow candidates to compete for several vacancies available in federal public bodies, in the same area of activity, with a single proof.

The CNU aims to democratize access to vacancies offered by public authorities and increase candidates’ chances of being approved.

How does it work?

When registering, candidates must choose one of the blocks of governmental areas available in the competition. This year, there are almost 8 thousand vacancies open, in the following areas:

  • Public Administration
  • Science and Technology
  • Defense
  • Economy
  • Education
  • Health
  • Public Safety

After that, they must indicate their position/career in order of preference among the vacancies available in the block of their choice.

The test will be administered in 179 Brazilian municipalities and divided into two parts on the same day:

  • First part: Objective questions with a common matrix for all candidates.
  • Second part: specific and essay questions by thematic blocks.

The panel will evaluate the candidate’s performance in the test and also the order of preference he determined for the positions. If desired, the candidate can also apply only for a specific vacancy.

Schedule

Federal government bodies have until September 29th to join the CNU, voluntarily. The notice must be published by December.

The test will be held on February 25, 2024. The general results of the first phase should be released by the end of April 2024.

Advantages of CNU

CNU offers several advantages to candidates, such as:

  • Greater chance of approval: with the possibility of applying for several vacancies, candidates increase their chances of being approved.
  • Saving time and money: the candidate only needs to prepare for a single test, which saves time and money.
  • Greater transparency: the CNU is organized by a single body, which guarantees greater transparency and equity in the process.

The CNU is an important change in the scenario of federal public tenders. The initiative promises to democratize access to vacancies offered by public authorities and increase candidates’ chances of being approved.
